Renovated auditorium named after MS

Mumbai, Feb 27: The renovated auditorium of the 50-year-old Bharatiya Music and Arts Society at Matunga in central Mumbai has been named after the doyen of Carnatic music late M S Subbulakshmi.

The auditorium was inaugurated today. Eminent violinist T N Krishnan paid a musical tribute to MS, accompanied by Rajesh Srinivasan on Mridangam and H Sivaramakrishnan on Gatam.
A photo exhibition on `MS was also inaugurated.

The fully air-conditioned hall has a seating capacity of 350 in the second floor and an open hall in the ground floor which can accommodate about 500 persons.

Among those present at the function included Kalki Rajendran, son-in-law of Subbulakshmi, K S Mahadevan, a 90-year-old Carnatic music critic and Gouri Ramnarayan, grand daughter of MS. (Agencies) News courtesy - http://www.chennaionline.com/
